Age: Unknown- Looks to be in her early twenties
Sex: Female
Species: Dream Eater
Nationality: Appears to be American-Caucasian.
Abilities/Strengths:
- Devouring Dreams- It doesn’t matter the type of dream, Nightmare enjoys them all, though he favorites are nightmares, as that is what she was born from. It doesn’t matter what species. If they sleep, and dream, she can steal their dreams away with a single touch. The effects of this on a human can be lethal though. If a Dream Eater devours their dreams, it can lead to insomnia and weakness, which could lead to illness and death.
- Evil Eye- This an ability only Nightmare Dream Eater’s have. When focused on a single person, they can ut them in a trance through eye contact and cause realistic, but dream-like illusions. These can range from blissful, to terrifying.
- Enhanced Strength- The more they feast, the stronger they become. At their peek, a Dream Eater can be nearly as strong as a demon. And, in some extreme cases, stronger.
- Demon Eater: (Note: This ability has yet to be discovered in Nightmare.)In very rare cases, it has been proven that Dream Eater‘s who reach a certain age are no longer satisfied with eating the dreams of morals, have moved on to devouring the minds of demons./list]
Inabilities/Weaknesses:- Because she must be present during a dream to devour them, it is troublesome to sneak into the homes of humans, and into their rooms to make the contact necessary for it. In turn, if she can’t, the lack of feeding can make her grow very weak. The weaker a Dream Eater becomes, the more human they become and, in turn, the more vulnerable. Only when a Dream Eater hasn’t feed for a while does it become easy to kill. Because of this, Dream Eater’s pose as normal humans and tend to get jobs working within the homes of humans, to have better access to their food source.
- Emotions- The more exposed to certain humans they are, the more Dream Eater adapt real emotions. Similar to demons, they can fake being human, but, in many aspects, Dream Eater‘s can start becoming human. Emotions hinder them, making them less likely t feed on the humans they get attached to, making them weaker.
Occupation: Unemployed/ Maid
Appearance: Standing at an even 5’6”, Nightmare isn’t exactly impressive in her human appearance. Unlike most women of the time, her inky black locks are actually cute in a short, choppy bob, framing her naturally pale face. Her eyes are a wide almond shape, a rusty brown color, glowing with a pinkish-red hue whenever she feeds or is angry. Petite and slender, she could be considered beautiful but prefers a slightly plain appearance in order to not attract unwanted attention, unless it’s attention she plans to gain. She usually wear’s simple dresses of neutral and ark coloring, or whatever her uniform may before fr where she works.

Life Story:It is hard to tell the origins of a Dream Eater. They are created simply by the dreams of the world. Nightmare herself was born just from that, nightmares. She Can’t say when or where. But it was dark and darkness was all she could see, all she could do. Her stomach was empty so she left the darkness and found herself in the terrifying dreams of a young human girl. The dream around her faded and she stood by the child’s bed, watching the girl toss and turn, whimpering in fear. Emotionless and running on instinct, she reached out a hand, touching the girls forehead. The first feeding had been far more delicious than any other Nightmare would experience. She stayed around the girls home and visited her room every night, feeding off her bad dreams and good dreams a like, but none were as good as that nightmare… It wasn’t a month later that the girl died. Lack of sleep and some unknown illness, the humans said, bit Nightmare knew it was she who did it. And, she felt… remorse? Guilt? She didn’t understand these at all.
With nothing more to hold her there, she moved on, leaving the territory that she later discovered was America. She traveled state to state, gaining more knowledge and power as she went. Discovering her taste. She encountered very few other Dream Eater’s, one particularly old one who was willing to explain what she was, what she did and what she was capable of. Becoming bored of America after many centuries, Nightmare moved on, traveling across the sea to a country known as England, where she settled under the alias of Gale Dourest, in London.
Sample Roleplay:
Monster. Is that what I am? Brick colored eyes stare absently out over the vast ocean as the ship rocked side to side, the dark choppy water lapping at it’s wooden shell. It was late, past midnight by her count. The other passenger’s were asleep, as well as most of the crew, say for the night shift that made sure they weren’t drifting off course. It was only out of boredom and the want for change that she had even board the ship. It wasn;t until after they had set sail that she found out where she was going.
”To London, Miss. In England” The captain answered after she’d questioned him, more than likely wondering if the young lady was a run away. He had questioned if she was alone. Nightmare simply ignored him, and went down below with the other passengers. No, she didn’t rally care if she arouse some form f suspicion. To them though, she was just a young women, a human. In truth, she was far from that. No, she wasn’t a Demon. Nor a Reaper… In fact, she probably wouldn’t have known what she was if it wasn’t for that old man. He had once been a Dream Eater himself. Now, he was a dying Demon Eater.
”Old fool,” she murmured to herself, smirking slightly as she leaned mre heavily on the rail. In the distance, she could vaguely see the dark outline of…
”LONG-HO!”
Yes, land. She pushed away from the rail, turning on her heels, heading below slowly, black glove covered hands clasped behind her back as her boot steps lead her downstairs. Someone was having a nightmare, and she was hungry. - Because she must be present during a dream to devour them, it is troublesome to sneak into the homes of humans, and into their rooms to make the contact necessary for it.
